Hello all. I have discovered a new “virtual resume” website! It is a fairly interactive website and is easy to design and create however you want. You are able to enter in education, work, and many other tabs into your resume. Check out my profile and look into creating one for yourself!
I do firmly believe that the way our education system is headed, is that the use of Wikis will become more commonplace. Also the teaching of creating an online profile will most likely be taught in middle school. Nowadays middle schoolers know how to operate a phone and tablet better than most adults. These sites allow for communication amongst individuals and organizations. Other such sites/apps also allow for live document sharing, which in turn can create better communication and company productivity. We have already begun moving into a global economy so the use and implementation of wikis in education is soon to follow.
I view Facebook and LinkedIn as two very different entities. Facebook I believe falls under the more "social media" personal umbrella rather then the "professional online appearance" that I place LinkedIn. I do believe that both sites can be used to have a positive presence online although I would prefer LinkedIn for more career oriented agendas rather than Facebook. I do believe that personal life should mainly be separated from work life so that there can be professional boundaries. Moving forward I plan on updating and increasing my LinkedIn profile due to employers using it as a valid source of information when considering potential hires. This is also the reason for the deleting of my Facebook account. I no longer needed it, let alone it was a consumer of my time; therefore without that I will have less of a social appearance online and an increased professional appeal.
When going through the Prezi about all the apps, I could not help it but think of how many apps I use but also of how many I have yet to even learn about. There are millions of apps to be downloaded and many could probably increase my productive and organization. I am slowly catching up to the technology world but yet I still resort to hand writting my agenda in my calendar.
5 out of the top 15 I have not used. This is not due to inability, it is merely because I have chosen other sites for my social networking and communication. I am definatelymore keen on using powerpoint over prezi and this may be due to my comfort level in using that program. Twitter is by far the program I use the most as far as the top 15. This is a daily used application on my smart phone along with Instagram. I am slowly getting used to all the applications and fully utilizing my smart phone and the internet.
I had no idea what to expect when beginning this course in Tech in Kines. Soon after beginning I had a good idea of where the focus was. I had not viewed the social media that had as avenues per say for the advancement of my career. This course has broadened my view of the importance of social media outside the realm of personal fun. I have been writing on a personal blog for sometime now but again this course has showed me already how well a blog and fan page can help advance my Athletic Training Career. It is still a new world for me in regards to creating this for the purpose of job and career awareness. Now in regards to education I can see how technology is becoming the norm for education and soon this will all be taught in grade school.
