It was a pleasure being able to ready about DeAnna Butler. I had two initial thoughts when it came to her page. It was simple in design which allows for easy navigation but didn't seem to have the necessary "wow" factor to draw in the reader. She was indeed thorough in her wording and resume which is always a pleasure to see and read and was beneficial to have a contact box already imbedded into the cite. This would allow for an ease of communication.
ATS
ATS is our online database for injury updates and evaluations. This program is utilized each day including weekends. Gmail I use Gmail for my personal and outlook for my work email. Facebook was just beginning to become popular as I entered into my freshman year at Azusa Pacific University. I had no idea what the purpose behind it was so I created an account not thinking I would really spend much time. I came from a background in which I was not allowed to watch cartoons, nor posses let alone play video games. Therefore any kinda of computer work was a challenge, besides typing. I soon came to realize how well Facebook can be used to communicate on a global scale, but for me it was my family. Up next came Instagram (ig) and twitter. Due to my financial demands I was not able to purchase a smart phone until after I had graduated. It was a catch up game figuring out what an "app" was. Throughout the past couple years I have done a few social media cleanses and breaks. These have had some major benefit in regards to increasing my free time and allowing me to gain better focus, along with not allowing the images and phrases to deter me from my career goals. The most recent move was to deactivate my Facebook account and potentially permanently deleting it down the line. Given my role as an Athletic Trainer. I find myself very invested into all of the athletics for my university along with professional teams. There are clear benefits for the apps of social media, particularly in regards to score and injury updates, weather, scheduling, traffic, and so on. Bottom line is social media can play a beneficial role in marketing, announcements, and professional scheduling. One must not overlook the potential hazards that come simultaneously. I am pleased to know that the current university i attend uses both twitter and Instagram in a ways that update parents and fans, promote upcoming events, and advertise what is desired; all through a faith based lens.
After watching Keynote Speaker: Marcus Buckingham - Presented by SPEAK Inc. Nothing really came as a shock, but it was definitely a pleasant reminder. Given the testimony that I posses I was well aware of the bold strengths that were daily present and visible to all. It was during my undergraduate degree at Azusa Pacific University where I had to take the "strengths quest finder" and I quickly realized areas of my life that needed growth; aka my weaknesses. I was reminded that is can be crucial to keep a mindset of realizing weaknesses are merely areas that have to be either realized or nurtured in positive and productive characteristics. The area in which I was most reminded during this film, was my diverse communication. I am able to relate on a deep level to a wide population.
I really enjoyed watching the video. It was shocking to see such a negative ratio in regards to individuals who can daily grow within their strengths in a humble way. The way I approach it is through advocating for a vocation not a career. This allows for ones humaness to be attached with the daily tasks we call a job.
